Among our faculty and community physicians, we provide care in the fields of adolescent medicine and gynecology, child and adolescent psychiatry, child abuse pediatrics, cystic fibrosis, dermatology, developmental-behavioral pediatrics, eating disorders, general pediatrics, medicine-pediatrics, neurodevelopmental pediatrics, neonatology, newborn nursery hospital care, pediatric allergy & immunology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric critical care, pediatric dentistry, pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric hematology-oncology, pediatric hospitalist care, pediatric neurology, pediatric orthopaedics, pediatric otolaryngology, pediatric pulmonology, pediatric radiology, pediatric surgery, psychology, and sports medicine. The faculty also provide specific expertise in pediatric chronic illness, pediatric multi-specialty care, and neurodevelopmental pediatrics.
At the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine Clinics on the Oakland Drive Campus, the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine provides about 25,000 annual patient visits in various areas of general pediatrics and its subspecialties. The clinic faculty are supported by skilled pediatric nurses.
The Pediatric Clinic (as part of the WMed Primary Care Clinics) has achieved national recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) designation through the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and The Joint Commission (TJC). Our physicians have hospital privileges at both Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital.
