Dr. deJong is a Professor of Pathology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Board of Pathology, Anatomic and Forensic Pathology and the National Association of Medical Examiners. Dr. deJong is also a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the College of American Pathologists. She completed her residency in anatomic pathology at Michigan State University in Grand Rapids and a fellowship at the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. deJong is currently pursuing a master's degree in medical education.
Dr. deJong serves as the medical examiner for Allegan, Calhoun, Ingham, Kalamazoo, Livingston, and Muskegon counties and as the deputy medical examiner of Barry, Eaton, Ionia, Isabella, Montcalm, and Shiawassee counties. She will be responsible for overseeing pathology education of the medical students and the development of the medical examiner program to serve southwest Michigan.
