In less than two months, the medical school’s W.E. Upjohn M.D. Campus in downtown Kalamazoo will once again be transformed for a night of fun, food and dancing, all in the name of a good – and worthy – cause.
The 2nd Annual Imagine GALA is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2017.
The black-tie event benefits the medical school’s student pipeline programs, which champion the biomedical science and healthcare career aspirations of underrepresented and disadvantaged youth in Southwest Michigan. The pipeline programs provide science education and enrichment with the goal of increasing diversity among youth who pursue careers in the fields of bioscience and healthcare.
The inaugural Imagine GALA raised nearly $200,000 for WMed’s student pipeline programs. Guests at last year’s event received the red-carpet treatment, as well as drinks, food and nighttime music courtesy of the Simone Vitale Band.
Western Michigan University President John M. Dunn and his wife, Linda Dunn, will be the guests of honor at this year’s Gala. It was President Dunn’s vision that led to the medical school becoming a reality and welcoming its first class of of medical students in 2014.
This year’s Gala will include an honorary send-off for President Dunn and Linda Dunn.
The event will again feature music from the Simone Vitale Band, as well as entertainment from a group of Cirque du Soleil-style performers.
Seats are limited. To make a reservation, learn more about this year’s Imagine GALA or see highlights from last year, click here.
