In mid-June we moved into the new medical school educational facility on the W.E Upjohn Campus. The new campus is now part of the medical school which continues to grow and expand. We have our Oakland Drive Campus, our department of pathology on the Borgess Medical Center campus, and our family medicine residency has officially relocated to the Family Health Center on Paterson Street. We are proud of our new downtown campus and on July 2 at our employee picnic everyone at WMed had the opportunity to tour the facility before we officially open for business in August when our inaugural class of medical students arrives. More than 400 faculty, residents, and staff gathered, along with the medical school Board of Directors, for the ribbon cutting ceremony and a team photo with everyone wearing their new WMed t-shirts. This was another historic event and an opportunity to celebrate all that we have accomplished as we fulfill our mission to educate and inspire lifelong learners to be exceptional clinicians, leaders, educators, advocates, and researchers of tomorrow. And, focus on our vision to be distinguished as a leader among medical schools through community collaboration in medical education, patient care, research, and service.
