American University of Antigua College of Medicine
Since my interview day here at WMed, I knew that this was the place I wanted to be for my residency. I was greeted with a warm welcome and environment that felt like home. I remember everyone had a smile on their face and respect for each other. This program was a perfect fit for my expectations as it is close to my home and a smaller sized program that provides excellent training in each and every aspect of pediatrics. I was amazed at how education was highly valued, with Friday lectures being protected time for residents in addition to morning reports. Coming from an area very close to this town, I was quite familiar with the beautiful town of Kalamazoo before coming in for my interview. Kalamazoo is a very supportive community serving a widely diverse population and providing high quality education through Kalamazoo Public Schools. I can see a bright future for my kids through the Kalamazoo Promise. Last but not least, I am interested in becoming a general pediatrician and I believe that this well-rounded program has a strong emphasis on outpatient medicine that will enable me to achieve my goal of becoming a competent pediatrician. I am very happy to be a part of this Pediatric Residency program.
