Andrew Walker MD received his undergraduate education at Miami University as an Oxford Scholar. While attending he examined the impact of sodium hydrogen exchangers in cardiac contractility. After graduation he worked for 3 years as a research assistant at Rush University Medical Center exploring the impact of gut microbiota on breast cancer initiation and progression. He then received his masters degree in Biomedical Sciences with a focus in healthcare education from Rosalind Franklin University. Afterwards he attended Chicago Medical School where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. While in medical school he worked on a project examining the role of epidermal stem cells in wound healing.
