Sleep Medicine

WMed Health Sleep Medicine provides care for patients of all ages including infants, children, adolescents and adults for a full range of concerns related to sleep. Our care team provides comprehensive evaluation and management for a wide spectrum of sleep and wakefulness disorders integrating standard medical therapies with evidence-based behavioral treatments. Many sleep concerns in children and adolescents may also have behavioral component; our clinic works collaboratively with our pediatric psychology team to address such concerns. Diagnostic testing including sleep studies will be ordered as indicated; we work collaboratively with the Bronson Sleep Health laboratory and program.

  • Disorders in control of breathing
  • Central and obstructive apnea

  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Periodic limb movement disorder
  • Intolerance to CPAP
  • Shift work sleep-wake disorder
  • Circadian rhythm disorder
  • Parasomnias including sexsomnias
    • Narcolepsy
    • Difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep
    • Insomnia
    • Excessive daytime sleepiness
    • Sleepwalking, sleep talking, and sleep eating disorders
    • Nightmares and night terrors
    • Cognitive-behavior therapy for narcolepsy and fatigue
    • Forensic evaluations for sleep behaviors
    • Other sleep issues

    Our Location

    WMed Health Sleep Medicine is located at 1000 Oakland Drive on the 1st floor in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Parking is available adjacent to the building. Our practice is a non-smoking environment. We strive to provide a clean environment for our patients.

    Fees and Insurance

    WMed Health Sleep Medicine participates with many insurance providers, including Medicaid and Medicaid Health Plans. Before you first visit, check with your insurance company to understand what services will be paid for by your insurance plan. For every appointment, you will need to bring your insurance card(s). Co-pays are due at the time of service and accepted forms of payment are cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. If you have questions, our patient financial counselors we are ready to help you.     Referrals

    A referral by a healthcare provider may be required depending on your insurance coverage. To refer, call 269.337.6289 or fax 269.337.6547. To make a referral in Epic, "Add Order" at the bottom of the right of the progress note or within the Meds and Orders section, search for the word "referral" and the Epic referral name WMed Pediatric Sleep Medicine or WMed Sleep Medicine.
